Goals Goals Goals!

Hello! Time to set myself some goals. I’m going to set myself some achievable ones for the rest of the summer holidays, so that’s five weeks left, and one longer term one. Long term: Reduce BMI by the beginning of October. (Current BMI is 29) Short term, for the rest of the summer holidays: Meal plan each week, and either do a proper weekly shop, or a Tesco order. 10,000 steps at least 5 out of 7 days. Visit the gym at least once a week. So there we go, somewhere to start. Let’s go from Monday and see how we get on. I know 10,000 steps is a bit arbitrary. I used to do way over that daily, even when pregnant, but i’m doing way under at the moment. I am conscious that a lot of my steps are done whilst pushing a pushchair though and I don’t think my Fitbit is tracking those properly. What I might do is wear my new tracker, but carry my old Fitbit and see if I can get a bit more accurate tracking that way? What I probably should do is try and get out at least for a walk on...

First Steps

Hello! So i’ve decided that I want to improve my health and fitness. My main goal is obviously to be fit and healthy for my new daughter, and improve my energy levels, for her, my job and for the housework (which i’ve been really rubbish at since having the baby) I would also like to fit back into some of the clothes I already own. I can’t fit into much at the moment, and a lot of it is maternity wear... the baby has been out for almost as long as she was in now...I probably should try to do something about that. I  really don’t have the money to buy new clothes, and nor do I want to when I have a wardrobe full of clothes just a bit too small for me currently. My doctor has told me that my BMI is also on the borderline between overweight and obese. I know there are problems with BMI, but I don’t have much muscle mass, and aiming to have a healthy BMI is no bad goal. My current BMI is 29. By the beginning of October I want to have reduced that. As a little kick to get myself goi...

My Mummy Health & Fitness Journey Begins

Hello! I’m a mum to Baby N. and i’m a part time teacher. N is 9 months old next week, and I figured, that it’s about time that I sort myself out. I have literally never been this big or this unfit. I have never been particularly fit tbh (I am more of a reader than a runner) but as I got into my thirties I found it harder and harder to stay a healthy weight and size whilst drinking or eating whatever I want. I was very fortunate when I was younger that I have always been on the slimmer side and could mostly eat what I wanted, but my metabolism has slowed down as i’ve got olde I met my hubby when I was 30, and we very much enjoyed eating and drinking together, enjoying long lie ins, and lounging about watching Netflix. Over time, my weight slowly crept up. Unlike me, hubby very much enjoys exercise, and whenever he feels a bit bigger than he likes he can very quickly work it off. Also, being 5ft 5 and hubby being 6ft 4, I probably shouldn’t have been eating the same portion sizes as h...
